here's some stuff i've been up to this week, and some todo items:
- removed the random form feed characters found in the
TEDHELP.EXE
section of my last post. - in light of SDL3 becoming ABI/API stable, i've updated Yamagi Quake II to
support it in the
sdl3-current
branch. pull request here. - i keep thinking about making a cool sector-based level editor that can export to both the BUILD and DOOM game engines. mainly i'm not satisfied with the current editors for both of those games, and i wanna see if i could do something better or atleast usable.
- i'm also still thinking about writing my own 3D software renderer, as i talked about in this post. another thing where i really want to learn how it works and i want to have the feeling of accomplishment from having done it myself "from scratch".
- i got my eye on the Win32 Jam happening on itch.io for the duration of autumn. i have some prototypes using Plush and other 3D software renderers, but no real game in mind.
- i'm also trying to participate in Level Design Jam 9 being hosted by Steve Lee. i have a pretty sweet Half-Life map prototype in the works, but no guarantee i'll finish it :P
- TODO: finish my work-in-progress update for my small-bitmap-editor. new features include color blending, custom palettes, better performance and improved code quality!
- TODO: see if i can port Plush to the PSP using the homebrew toolchain.
- TODO: port my o sweet luna zine to Decker so it can run in a browser and have interactive elements.
